With luck, I can find a way to get Vox demoted before then, so even if he does he isn't next in line to take over. Demetrio's unimaginative, but at least he's loyal.

All I need to do is find a way. I can't simply say "A friend of mine came from the future and told me he's going to kill me." Arzei - beg pardon, I mean the king - would have me locked up.

We'll have to find a way for me to fit into all that, too. I can't just pop out of nowhere and end up being the suspect of every suspicious thing that happens. Do you even have women in the Dragon Brigade? Airyglyph seems to be a very patriarchal kingdom to me.

Few women are particularly interested, honestly. But having seen Sophia and Peppita fight - not to mention Nel, Maria, and Mirage, who are actually in militaries or something resembling them - I've got no illusions about capability.

But yes, if you come back with me, I'm going to have to explain things. Especially since I was right in the middle of a meeting when I was taken. Mostly Shelby's going to be the problem; Count Woltar and Arzei are more likely to let me explain what's going on.

I think that is going to be the problem.

They say we're going to get sent back to the exact moment we were taken. So, basically, as if nothing ever happened.

Don't worry, I think between the two of us we're capable of defending you from Shelby. The man's bark is much worse than his bite, though he doesn't seem to have realized it.
