What is this place?

I woke up in a white room, feeling sick to my stomach. I thought the chicken last night was a little off - I don't know why I ate it. Then someone told me I've been drafted into another war. I've had quite enough war for one lifetime already, thank you. That's what got my father killed. Apparently they've decided they want me. Now I'm sitting in a barracks, still sick to my stomach, although my headache's gone. That's good.

It's a very nice barracks, really. I should talk to the king about making some improvements to the ones in Airyglyph.

I wonder how Maria's doing. No, scratch that, she can take care of her self. I wonder how Ather's doing. He never did like the caverns at the castle much. I miss him already; that dragon keeps me sane. And I'm probably going to have to fight without him, aren't I? Damn.

No... The Albel I'm used to seeing is... well... not as nice as you are. To put it nicely... Ehehe...

No. I've never even heard of doubles before I came here. It's a little hard to explain but it looks like there's more than one version of each of us. The Albel I know would be like another version of you. Or you would be like another version of him, I don't know.

If you're from another version of my world then... What's it like there? Are we different?

No. I think Fayt knows a little about it but they've never told me anything. Heehee~ He's probably just grumpy!

...But I did hear some rumors in Kirlsa about his father... Never mind that~!

Yep. He's here too. I haven't seen him here in person yet but he's definitely here.

Oh, oops! Well, at least I know I'm probably not very different! Maybe the others besides you aren't either. I don't know. It would probably be fun to try to find out~

I think he probably have a good reason to be grumpy. Most people do.

Which means he's probably going to show up and start ranting at me. Either that, or we'll both go looking for each other and get up to all sorts of comical antics, always just missing each other. Maybe it'll end up like one of those chase scenes in those old "movies" I saw on Moonbase, you know, where we chase each other around in a hallway and go in one door and out another.

So, uh... is Maria are any of the others here?

That reminds me, I wonder if the king's sacked Shelby yet; the man seems to be trying to get himself fired, really he does. He doesn't quite seem to realize that the war with Aquaria's over.

Who's Ather? I know who Maria Maria, eh? Heehee~ and Fayt are, obviously. But I've never heard of Ather before. Was there somebody else with us- I mean you, there? It was only Fayt, Sophia, Cliff, Mirage, Maria, you, Nel, Adray, Roger, and me for us.

!! No. Albel's in the Storm Brigade. I guess that's another difference between you two.

Good for whoever got rid of him, then. I don't like killing any more than necessary, but I'm certainly willing to make an exception for him. Shelby the Heavy-Handed, they call him. The king could put Mayu in charge of the Black Brigade and she'd do a better job.

Well, that explains why you've never heard of Ather; he's my dragon. Or possibly I'm his human. It's hard to tell sometimes.

I don't really know much about this Shelby. That happened before I went to Airyglyph. But he really doesn't sound nice! But... wait... Oh, no! I told you the wrong thing! My Albel's the leader of the Black Brigade not the Storm Brigade. Whoopsies. Heehee~ You mentioning it reminded me.

Haha~ Fayt's tried a lot of times but nothing ever seems to work. Maybe he just needs someone who looks just like him to tell him those things~

I think he might. He wears this really big gauntlet on his left arm that he never takes off. He has something there, I know he does. I just don't know what. Fayt probably knows what exactly. Too bad we can't ask him here.
